Stay in the Game with GSSA Adult Rec Soccer
GSSA offers adult recreational soccer open to players aged 18 and older. Our adult program focuses on teamwork, fitness, and fun—perfect for staying active, meeting new people, and continuing your love for the game.
Our primary offering is a Coed 11v11 league. Whether you’re joining solo or signing up with friends, there’s a place for you on the field.
Team Composition Rules
The Coed format requires a maximum of six men on the field at any given time, and at least one woman must be on the field for each team at all times. Five positions on the field are dedicated for female players. If a team has fewer than five women available for a game (e.g., only three show up), the team must play short, fielding only nine players instead of the full eleven. This structure ensures balanced participation and encourages female involvement in every match.
League Divisions
The league is divided into two divisions:
One for teams looking for a more competitive edge, and
One for players who prefer a laid-back, social atmosphere.
This allows players and teams to find the right fit and enjoy the game at their preferred level of intensity.
Season Schedule
GSSA’s adult recreational leagues operate on a two-season model each year:
Spring Season: Runs from late February through early May
Fall Season: Runs from late August through early November
All games are scheduled for Sunday evenings, providing a consistent weekly commitment that works well for busy adult schedules. In the event of inclement weather or field closures, makeup games may be scheduled for other days as field availability permits.
The NMCSL works closely with member associations to ensure fair scheduling, updated communication, and well-maintained facilities throughout the season.
Registration & Fees
GSSA’s adult leagues are open to individual players and pre-formed teams. During registration, individuals can enter a team name to join friends or coworkers, or email a full team roster to [email protected] to be placed together. If you don’t have a team, no problem—register as a free agent and we’ll help place you on a team that fits your level and schedule.
Season Fees (Effective Spring 2024):
Male Players: $95 per season
Female Players: $35 per season
This pricing model encourages coed balance and helps make the sport more accessible for all. Please note: uniforms are not included in the registration fee and must be coordinated by each team. Uniforms may be as simple as matching color shirts or custom jerseys, depending on your team’s preference.
Each team may carry a maximum of 25 players on the roster, giving flexibility for player availability while keeping game-day lineups manageable.
