A beginner-friendly soccer program

Kickstart the Fun with Mini-Jogo!

Mini-Jogo is GSSA’s special soccer program tailored for players in the U4 and U5 age groups. As one of the first programs of its kind in the DFW area, Mini-Jogo was created to introduce preschool-aged children—and their parents—to the game of soccer in a lighthearted, fun-only environment. The focus is not on competition, but rather on encouraging movement, introducing the basics, and creating a love for the sport from the start. All teams are co-ed, and the emphasis is on participation, laughter, and learning through play.

Staying Game-Ready

Don’t forget to bring a labeled water bottle to each session to keep your child hydrated. Sunscreen, hats, and lawn chairs are also helpful for parents watching from the sidelines.

Weekly Format & Location

Mini-Jogo is an 8-game season that takes place over approximately 12 weeks, offering young players a fun and consistent introduction to soccer. Each Saturday session is one hour long and is divided into two parts: a 30-minute soccer skills training session followed by a 30-minute scrimmage. During the scrimmage, players compete against another team in four 6-minute quarters, with 2-minute breaks in between each quarter. This structure provides a perfect balance of learning and play, helping children build confidence, coordination, and a love for the game in a supportive, age-appropriate environment.
